Norway Elopement Film: Omayra & Fabrizio
A seven-hour hike to the top of a mountain. A temperature of -7 degrees. A badass bride that didn’t mind. And to top it off, a brand new camera to test out. What does all of this amount to? Simple: one of the coolest (literally) projects we’ve EVER done. This is the Norway-elopement of Fabrizio and Omayra.
We couldn’t be more proud of this project. It’s the first elopement we’ve ever done – and it might also be one of the most intense ones, ever. Together with amazing photographer Raisa Zwart Photography, we faced all-day rain, surprise snowstorms and freezing temperatures to get to our destination: the top of a Norwegian mountain somewhere near Odda, Bergen. We hiked for hours with not just food, water and supplies on our back: we also had to bring camera’s, lenses and – not to be forgotten – a wedding dress and suit!
Fabrizio and Omayra have been together for a long time. A ‘real’ wedding was never part of the plans – they hate being the center of attention. But the idea of eloping really stuck with them: being able to express your love in such a personal and emotional way was the one thing they would want from a wedding. So why not do just that?
Amazingly enough, Blackmagic Design provided us with two of their brand new Pocket Cinema Camera 4K’s to bring along. The reduced weight of these camera’s made the hike a whole lot easier, I can tell you. And without sacrificing image quality at all!
Enjoy this epic elopement – hopefully the first of many we get to capture!
